Venue Description

At Christ Church Cathedral, we believe that one of our most important ministries is to say welcome. In that spirit, we are grateful to know that you are considering being married wedding here.

As a sacred rite, a wedding celebrates within a community your desire to enter into a life-long relationship. You make your vows before God and before a gathered community of family, friends, and the Church, and receive the grace and blessings of both God and the community to help you fulfill your vows.

We believe that marriage is meant to be lived out in a community of faith, where it can be supported and nurtured by others seeking to grow in love, forgiveness, justice, and compassion. By choosing to be married at Christ Church Cathedral, we invite and encourage you to be supported by and committed to this church community both now and in the future.

We welcome weddings at our Cathedral for active members, as well as for fellow Episcopalians throughout the Diocese of Indianapolis. If you are an active member of the Cathedral, please contact any of our clergy to schedule an initial meeting, where you will receive a wedding packet, review possible dates and times, and arrange to participate in our Marriage Preparation Weekend. If you are an active member of another parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis, please ask your parish Rector or Vicar to send a written letter of inquiry to The Very Reverend Stephen Carlsen, Dean and Rector of Christ Church Cathedral.

If you are a newcomer to the Cathedral and would like more information about weddings, we invite you to attend a Sunday or weekday worship service and to speak afterwards with any of our parish clergy to learn more about establishing a connection with our faith community. Because of the great value we place on building a meaningful relationship with you, we kindly ask that our first contact with you be in person rather than via telephone or email. Because of the importance we place on the spiritual and communal aspects of Holy Matrimony, we are unable to accommodate those who simply wish to use our facility
