Venue Description

The Library's mission is to provide the people of Louisville and Jefferson County with the broadest possible access to knowledge, ideas, and information, and to support them in their pursuit of learning.

There are no fees charged for meeting room use.

This joint venture of the Jefferson County Board of Education and LFPL allows the expanded library of the Westport Middle School to serve as a public library branch. During school hours, the Board of Education runs the library at 8100 Westport Road, and The Library operates it during all other times.

This bright, spacious combination school and public library replaces the very busy, but small Northeast Branch. The partnership between the Jefferson County Public Schools and Louisville Free Public Library offers public library access and enhances learning for local students.  The renovated Library opened in November 1995.

JCPS staff operates the facility as a school library from 7A.M. to 3P.M. during the school year. LFPL staff open the library to the public after school during the week and on Saturdays. Summer hours are expanded to include morning hours.
