Venue Description

Traders Point Creamery is a family-owned artisan dairy farm located in Zionsville, Indiana. We started making dairy products, selling direct to customers, and delivering in the central Indiana region in the summer of 2003. The Brown Swiss herd spends all of their time on pastures and 60 to 90 cows are milked each day throughout the year. The farm is Certified Organic by the USDA. As certified organic milk producers, Traders Point Creamery never uses synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides and the cows never receive antibiotics or synthetic hormones. These organic practices come from a belief in “nourishing the land that nourishes us all.” This means preserving the family farm and continuing our grandparents’ legacy of sensible, sustainable, low-input agriculture.

Traders Point's Mission
  • Farm in harmony with the land and the animals
  • Produce the most nutritious and healthful product possible.
  • Encourage education of farming and nutrition
  • Promote a community of local food and sustainable farming, reconnecting farmers & consumers.
A healthy choice: Trader's Point Creamery strongly believes that cows raised on a grass fed diet and free to roam in the pasture, produce one of the most healthful foods known to man: milk. Most dairy products available today comes from cows that have their diets supplemented with grain in order to increase the amount of milk produced. Cows are ruminants, meaning their digestive systems are designed for a grass diet. When we deviate from what is ‘natural’ we usually pay a penalty. In this case it is the nutritional value of the milk.

Dr. Peter Kunz, an owner of Traders Point Creamery, said in a recent interview, “We have discovered just how important grazing animals are to human health. When animals are raised on pasture and eat the rich greens, they acquire nutrients that are important to human health: omega-3, fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acids (CLA), beta-carotene and vitamins A and D. When people eat products such as: milk, meat and eggs from grass fed animals, research suggests that the risk of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and cancer is reduced.” Traders Point Creamery sells pure, fresh, creamline whole milk, chocolate milk, plain, and fruit yogurts. Cheese offerings include 3 flavors of Fromage Blanc, cottage cheese, and raw milk natural rind aged cheese “Fleur de la Terre.”
A beautiful place: The scenic settings of the farm make it a wonderful place to explore organic agriculture. Nature walks and both self-guided and private tours of the farm are available. See: for more details or email or call (317) 733-1700.
